Magnitude: Dimension Space Book 4 or Multiverse Space Book 1 Available Now

Magnitude is the next book in my Dimension Space universe. It is both Dimension Space Book 4 and Multiverse Space Book 1.

Magnitude picks up a month after the events in Amplitude, the third Dimension Space book. I wrote Magnitude such that you can jump in here without having to read the other books. The series has shifted more to military science fiction as compared to Solitude, so I wanted to give those fans a chance to enter the series. My plan for world domination is that readers new to my vision of the multiverse will like Magnitude so much they go back and read the first three books, but it’s not required to enjoy this one.

    When I read the description of this new book I already thought it was a sequel but wasn't sure. I'm glad that it is a sequel though because I really enjoyed these characters and would like to know more about what they can get themselves into! The switch in genres is also something I'm looking forward to. Looking forward to listening to it when it comes out. I was wondering about something though, on Audible, books can have multiple series attached to them, why doesn't this one have this? (like the Alien or Realms of the Elderlings audiobooks)

      Thanks for the comment, Bram. Also, thanks for the suggestion on linking the audiobook to multiple series. Honestly, I didn’t know it was a possibility. I need to research that.

    … I did not know that this is a „sequel“ … although this trilogy is supposed to stand on its own, here my suggestions: Have an explanation on audible … I would have likely started with the actual first book. As it is, I am in Chapter 11 and am somewhat lost … that is where I started to search on the internet for a summary, as I kept thinking that I am missing something. If you wanted a stand alone series, it may have been useful to add a chapter in the beginning to explain to a new character what is going on … make it part of your book and let it be a brief review for newcomers to your book world.

      Thanks for the message, Tim. Sorry for the confusion. Apparently, the backstory notes I spread throughout the first parts of the book fell short of the mark. Carmichael and the special operators are new characters, just as unfamiliar with the overall story as anyone new to the Dimension Space universe. I tried to reveal the backstory to the reader through Carmichael’s eyes and experiences in those first five chapters. Later, as existing characters are introduced, I added a bit about each one’s appearances, quirks, and backstory. Sorry things weren’t as clear as I’d hoped.

    Hi Dean, Loving this series! Also love the occasional nod to Skippy and the Merry Band of Pirates. Is there “more” to that, or is it just a brief tribute to another great series/author. When can we expect the new installment? Thanks, Tighe

      Thanks, Tighe! I've sprinkled Easter eggs throughout all of my novels. Some of them relate to Star Wars, others Expeditionary Force, and more. Book 5, Fortitude, is now available. I'm working on the final Dimension Space/Multiverse Space book, Infinitude. It should be out sometime in late 2023. Thanks again for the kind words! Dean
